IT'S ALL ABOUT SPRING THIS MONTH!
The students are studying everything green…and everything about Spring! Springtime stories of the earth’s renewal, plant anatomy, earth land formations and natural habitats, animals, bodies of water, etc. Notice all the scientific experiment projects and STEM activities the students are engaged in! Ask you child or children what they created each day, as everyday this month, students are engaged in a hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) based activity.
Monthly calendars for each grade level are posted throughout each month, displaying the enrichment activities that YOUR children are involved in, be sure to check them all out!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR ...
Love for what, you might ask? Love for self, love for others, love for our community. Students are learning about important historical and present black leaders in our community, and others throughout the United States of America. Students are learning more about what it means to care for oneself. And, families are being engaged in the conversation! We all know, in light of the current events in America, and around the world, we could all use more love. Our students are learning just what that means, and how true love can be respectfully and responsibly expressed.
Share a little of your love for what we’re doing in the 21st CCLC after school programs by coming by to see what we are learning, and the projects that we are producing from the love in our own hearts. Every creation is an act of love!

West Perrine and Palmetto Estates students, families, and staff…
We hope that you and your loved ones remained safe during hurricane Irma! Unfortunately, the community was amongst the areas in South Florida that experienced a great deal of damage as a result of hurricane Irma’s destructive maneuvering through the State of Florida. There are several community service initiatives taking place to support you as you recover! The Miami-Dade Public Library System has compiled a listing of post-hurricane Irma resources that may address all of your post-Irma needs.

Unfortunately, there are no new updates regarding the start of After School Programs’ (ASP) 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) programs in Miami. Thank you for your patience, as ASP awaits an update from the Florida Department of Education regarding the delay!
